Something bad happened in front of the bob bullock museum today (2/25/09). I saw no ambulance, no person sprawled out on the floor, but I Did see this.
See that police cruiser with the trunk open? There is a bike in there. It is a fixed gear. And I am 95% sure there were no brakes on it. I hope all are ok, regardless of fault.

I was there. Here's what happened. Brakes on the fixie had nothing to do with it: http://bicycleaustin.info/forum/viewtopic.php?id=273
ReplyDeleteNothing to do with who's fault it was, yes. Nothing to do with the outcome entirely, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeletea front brake on a fixed gear allows one to stop really f'in quick, skids stops do not. but street cred is way more important than bike control. now this guy has even more street cred. speedy recovery. heads up cyclists.
